What About My Life?

Filed under: Uncategorized — Wendy Reynolds @ 5:46 pm

Have you ever had one of those days, months, years . . .  when you begin to question everything?  “What is my purpose? Is my life making an impact? Why am I working so hard and it seems to go unnoticed? Is all of this really worth it?  Will my life every amount to anything?”  If we are not careful and we begin to dwell on those thoughts for too long of a period, life can become oppressive and depressive.

If we base our inner happiness and contentment solely on the circumstances of life we will never experience lasting peace. If we find our value and validation in the perceptions that other people have of us and the definitions that other people try to define us with, we will never emerge into who we really are.

We must continually find our hope in God. We’ve got to continually remind ourselves that God and God alone holds our destiny in His hand. We’ve got to look to Him for our definition, our direction and for the hope of our future.  So… so what if some boss says you have no potential or future. So what if the Dr. says you’ll never be completely healthy again. Don’t listen to the person who says you’re worthless. Don’t listen to the person who walked out on you and said you’ll be nothing with out them.  Let ‘em keep stepping.  They have no control over your destiny.  Let me state that again:  THEY HAVE NO CONTROL OVER YOUR DESTINY! Gods got you! He defines you and He has your future in His hand. You are significant and overflowing with greatness and purpose. You’d better believe that!!

Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope (NLT translation).”  I also like the way the Message Bible puts it: “I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.”

Get to know the One who created you. As we live our lives for God and become more aware of who God is and who we are to Him and in Him, we can rest in the fact that He is in control and is causing all things to work out for our good. Now, you’ve got to love that!

Stay encouraged and in God’s presence!

JUST A WORD . . .

wendy-small.jpg I know it has been quite a while since I last added anything to the site.  A lot of you have asked me, what’s next– why haven’t you written anything? First let me say that I am honored that you all have been checking back for updates.  You just don’t know how happy that makes me!  A lot of things have been going on and I have a whole lot to write about and more pictures to add, including the ones sent by Uncle Moses taken while we were in Cleveland celebrating the life of our Cousin Billy.  It is my goal this week to sit down and update.  So don’t worry, I haven’t dropped the ball.

However, in the meantime, I’d like to say a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to those family members and friends who I know had  or will have a birthday in August and September! If I missed anyone, please let me know.

And last but not least, we welcome Taylor Cole Reynolds as of September 19th!!

Now you know I can’t end without challenging you in some form or fashion!  That just wouldn’t be me. So, . . . I want to challenge everyone to reach out and touch someone that you haven’t talked to in a while.  Pick up the phone, send a card, visit,  drop someone an email, send a care package to one of our children in college or sing to someone a happy birthday song.  Never underestimate the positive impact that you can have on someone else’s life as well as your own life just by giving away some kind words, encouragement and laughter.  So lets get it done.  Let’s remind each other how important we are to each other!

Lastly, I want to challenge everyone to make their health a priority.  I know we are getting ready to leave summer behind but let’s make an agreement to commit to getting healthy.  Keep moving, drink plenty of water, lose or gain a pound or two (whichever your issue is), add some fruits and veggies and healthy meals (Stay out of the fast food places for a while), find a health buddy, and keep your mind stimulated (read daily, learn something new, do some crossword puzzles, play chess, checkers or bidwist).  In addition, let’s also take time to laugh every day!!  That is so very important.  If you don’t have anything to laugh about call me!  I’ve got plenty of material to share.

Remember that we are each God’s personal Tabernacle. ( 1Corinhians 3:16 states, “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”)  Let’s keep it healthy and full of life and laughter! Yeah, I know it’s a challenge (boy, do I know) but it’s worth it!  Let’s do it together!!

So, who will dare to take me up on the Challenges? Leave me a comment if you dare.

As always, until next time, stay encouraged, say prayerful and stay in God’s presence!
